Wednesday, August 31st, 2011 at 2:15 pm  |  6 responses When it comes to Yao Ming’s 2012 Hall of Fame nomination as a contributor to the game of basketball, the big fella is saying “hold on!” Reports Fox 26 Sports : “A representative of former Houston Rockets center Yao Ming informed the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Wednesday that Yao feels it is premature for him to be on the ballot for the Hall of Fame in 2012. ‘Yao believes it is inappropriate for him to be considered for induction to the Hall of Fame at this time,’ said John Huizinga, Yao’s agent, in an interview with FOX 26 Sports.

Rockets chief executive officer Tad Brown and former Rocket Clyde Drexler helped install the first unit on Tuesday afternoon at the home of Dora Fannon, southeast of the city. Fannon says her air conditioner shut down in April.

With his NBA career on hold due to the lockout, Houston Rockets swingman Chase Budinger is turning his attention to a familiar sport.Budinger is scheduled to compete this weekend at the Corona Light Wide Open beach volleyball tournament in Hermosa Beach, Calif.
