Orlando Magic to open home season against Houston…


ORLANDO, Fla. –

Local 6 Sports Director David Pingalore has learned who the Orlando Magic will play in their 2011 home opener.

Pingalore said the Magic will host the Houston Rockets on Dec. 26.

The Magic will open their season on the road against Oklahoma City on Christmas night.

The Magic will play preseason games against the Miami Heat on Dec. 18 in Miami and the Dec. 21 in Orlando.

Training camp is set to start Dec. 9.

The NBA will release all schedules Tuesday at 7 p.m., Pingalore said.

NBA players were officially allowed back into team facilities last Thursday.

NBA cancels preseason game at Sprint Center

KANSAS CITY, MO (KCTV) -

The NBA has canceled its preseason game at the Sprint Center.

The Miami Heat and Houston Rockets were slated to square off on Oct. 15.

The cancellation came because the league and its players have not reached an agreement on a new collective bargaining agreement.

All preseason games between Oct. 9 and Oct. 15 have been canceled. All training camps have been postponed until a new deal is reached.

You can receive a refund for the canceled preseason games starting Monday at 10 a.m. The refunds should be obtained “at point of purchase.”

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The National Basketball Association has canceled all scheduled games for the first week of preseason, including an Oct. 15 showcase between the Miami Heat and the Houston Rockets at the Sprint Center.The league made the move amid an ongoing lockout that started in July and shows no sign of imminent resolution. Training camps were scheduled to open on Oct. 3, a date which has also been delayed. The league said it still hopes to start the regular season on time Nov. 1.The event at the Sprint Center marked the second straight season that the Miami Heat and stars LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh were scheduled to play a preseason game in Kansas City.Refunds for the game will be available at the point of purchase starting at 10 a.m. Monday. Sprint Center officials directed fans to the NBA website for more information.
