On Wednesday night, the Seattle Sonics came to Houston to go head-to-head with Tracy McGrady and the Rockets. Ray Allen and Tracy McGrady each had themselves good games, but McGrady came up on the better end with the 103-96 home win. Houston was +9 in the rebounding column (41-32), limited the turnovers to 8, and Tracy McGrady had a great game.

For Seattle, Ray Allen had the hot hand, going for 32 points. Damien Wilkins, who is starting in place of the injured Rashard Lewis, scored 19 points and hit 5 of 10 from long distance. Chris Wilcox had a bit of an off night, but he still ended up with 13. Second year center Johan Petro was the #1 guy off the bench, scoring 11 points and grabbing 6 rebounds. Nick Collison, who has had a disappointing season, scored 7 points and snagged 7 boards off the bench as well. Luke Ridnour couldn’t get his shot going, shooting just 2-7 and scoring just 7 points, but he still made plays and dished 8 assists.

For the beloved Rockets, Tracy McGrady had yet another good game, scoring 31 points, grabbing 6 rebounds, and dished 7 assists. Juwan Howard also was effective offensively, scoring 18 points. Dikembe Mutombo had a nice night, filln in for the still injured Yao Ming, scoring 8 points and grabbed 12 rebounds. Shane Battier was his solid self, scoring 12 points and grabbing 3 rebounds. Rafer Alston scored 13 points as well. Off the bench, Luther Head scored 9 points, Chuck Hayes grabbed 8 rebounds, and rookie John Lucas scored 8 points of his own in 12 minutes on the floor.
